What we offer, and which one is right for you?
TRADITIONAL BOX STYLE SHARES
Consist of a weekly box/bag of fresh, seasonal produce. Boxes include a wide variety of produce that are chosen by the farmer based on what’s available in the fields during that time of the season. Boxed shares are a great way to try new produce and spark creativity in your kitchens! We love hearing about recipes and cooking ideas from our CSA members.
FLEXIBLE-WEEK SHARES
A Flexible-Week CSA solves the problem going on vacation and coming home to a tower of rotting produce on your front step, or, more commonly, paying for boxes you aren’t going to consume. Many families spend as much time giving away their vacation-week CSA shares as they do to find neighbors to watch their pets and water their house plants. With this program, you sign up for a certain number of weeks throughout the season. For example, our CSA delivers shares for 15 weeks through the summer, you may sign up for 3, 5 or 7 weeks to work around vacations and other issues. Using our Flexible-Week CSA, you will sign up for however many weeks during the season that you would like to receive produce. Once you decide how many weeks you would like produce, you will also pick which weeks that you would like to receive your share. Available beginning in May each year.
MARKET STYLE SHARES
We’re offering a *very limited* number of market style shares this year. Market style CSA members utilize their CSA like a credit system with free choice shopping at our booth at the Oxford Farmers' Market, at the farm or through our online Farm Stand. This option is great for folks who want free choice in their weekly produce. Once your credit is utilized, you can purchase more. Traditional CSA shareholders can utilize this option to purchase products (i.e. fruit, eggs, etc.) when available.
Traditional CSA
Available beginning February each season.
Determining What Share Size is Right for You.
The share size that is right for you and your family is a very individual decision. It entirely depends on how many vegetables you consume in any given week. You could use a dollar value as your guide, or you could follow the theory that a ‘standard’ share would be more appropriate for a couple with moderate vegetable consumption, or a single vegetarian, while a ‘large’ share would be more appropriate for a family with moderate vegetable consumption, or a vegetarian couple.
Keep in mind, that your share contents will be determined by what is maturing in the field, and that if you are a vegetarian, you will likely want to supplement your farm share with other non-seasonal vegetables to round out your eating experience.
Traditional Shares Sizes that we offer:
Small Summer Vegetable Share – Allows the shareholder to choose four (4) produce items from the standard share, averages $12/week. (Summer Share only)
Standard Vegetable Share – Most shareholders receive a standard share, which averages $18/week (six produce items).
Large Vegetable Share – Provides a generous variety of vegetables for a family of 4 or a couple of serious vegetable eaters and averages $30/week (ten produce items).
